Search

Full-text search over 972,000+ decisions directly from your writing flow. Boolean, head-note, docket number, BGE reference, article lookup. The result follows the original language of the decision (DE/FR/IT).

📋

Cite

Correctly formatted citations in DE/FR/IT/EN — Federal Supreme Court, Federal Administrative Court, Federal Criminal Court, every cantonal court. Pinpoint to a specific consideration. One click inserts the standard string at the cursor.

🛡️

Audit

Five-rail closing audit over the entire document: every citation checked for existence, pinpoint, court and statute resolvability. Fabricated BGE numbers and inaccurate pinpoints surface as Word comments. Purely deterministic against the local DB — free.

Pro tools (AI)

Four AI-assisted features — shared daily cap of 25 calls/day, structural PII redaction before any server call (EMAIL · AHV · IBAN · UID · PHONE · DOB · address · name), multilingual DE/FR/IT/EN. CHF 5/month via Stripe.

Verify

A single decision reference in the paragraph is checked against the full text of the cited decision. Claude Sonnet 4.6 verifies: does the source actually support what the paragraph claims? Answer: supports / partially / does not — with reasoning.

🛠️

Strengthen

The whole paragraph is x-rayed: every citation verified, up to 5 not-yet-cited leading cases suggested (ranked by citation-graph centrality), relevant commentary excerpts. No LLM call — structural and fast (~300 ms).

🔎

Find Support

Mark an unsupported statement — Sonnet parses it into claim + statute hints, generates search queries, and scores each hit 0–100 by how well the decision actually supports the claim. BGE/leading cases prioritized.

📚

Reflect

Mirror the whole document through literature: Sonnet identifies the central legal issue, draws one parallel from the world canon (Shakespeare, Dürrenmatt, Frisch, Kafka, Sophocles…) and returns 200–400 words of Markdown plus one reflective question. Explicitly not legal advice.

FAQ

Which languages does the add-in support?

The interface ships in DE, FR, IT and EN — auto-detected from the Office locale, switchable manually. Search, citation formats and statute abbreviations follow Swiss convention per language (DE "Abs.", FR "al.", IT "cpv.").

Privacy — are my queries stored?

No. We do not log document contents or personalized queries. Aggregated, differentially-private telemetry only if you opt in. Fully documented in the privacy notice.

Can I cancel Pro at any time?

Yes, fully through the Stripe Billing Portal. No notice period. Free features remain available unchanged.

Does it work in Word for Mac and Word Web?

Yes. Office.js runs in Word for Windows, Mac and the Web (Microsoft 365). The add-in needs an internet connection to the live database (mcp.opencaselaw.ch).

Is there a self-hosted variant?

Yes — the entire corpus is on Hugging Face under CC0, and the MCP server code is MIT-licensed on GitHub. Firms with their own infrastructure can run the full stack locally.

How current is the data?

Federal Supreme Court (BGer): typically within 15 minutes of publication on the Document Service. All other sources: daily via the nightly publish (03:30 UTC). Live status at opencaselaw.ch/quality.html.

What is OpenCaseLaw?

OpenCaseLaw is open infrastructure for Swiss case law — 972,000+ decisions across 109 courts, 8.1 million resolved citation edges, 33 public MCP tools (35 local), a 4-layer quality framework. The Word add-in is one of several surfaces; see also the MCP setup for Claude.ai/ChatGPT/Gemini and the research paper.
